Much more will come, but central for DIY is to know which torque to use, so here two links to torque specs:
"E46 M3 TORQUE SPECS LR.pdf" Downloadable pdf. Really good. Note the general info in beginning.
“Ultimate BMW E46 M3 Torque Spec Guide”. Downloadable. A bit more complicated to use.

Body color
The E46 M3 was available in 13 standard body colors – one of which, Interlagos Blue Metallic, was less “standard” than the other 12.
Of the 12 standard colors some were terminated before the end of production in 08/2006.
The below table shows the standard colors and the period they were offered.
(Sorry for the poor representation of the colors)
For Special Edition E46 M3 models there were 7 available colors however 3 of these were as standard and only 4 special. The Special are marked with a red dot in below table.

Since the color table shows the colors rather lousy, here are the “real life” colors:
Throttle Mapping
The E46 M3 has a “Sport” mode. It’s activated by pressing the “Sports” button in the center console just below the climate controls or head unit.
The car feels more alive and aggressive with the “Sports Mode” engaged – however this is mostly psychological.
The reality is that the sports mode just maps the throttle somewhat more aggressive, i.e. just gives more throttle for less pedal movement.
It does not add any power.
On the graph to the right you can see the relations between pedal movement and throttle opening in “comfort” and “sport” mode.
